    Question Kimber Adirondack review .308

Most of the reviews on this rifle are crap and hard to find, this will be just as crap and short as the others but at least it's for this forum

    The skinny.....
Barrel is 1 in 12 right hand stainless, 18 "
    Mauser claw extractor
3 position model 70 style safety
1 " Pachmayr decelerator recoil pad
    LOP is 13.63"
Stock is Kevlar carbon fibre type jobbie' pillar and glass bedded
    Weight is 1.8 kg unloaded

This rifle is LIGHT but when you pick it up it just feels so dammed good, the grip is solid and sweaty hands is a non issue it's very grippy and shoulders well, it just just feels like a rifle is meant to, according to me anyway, the camo is nice and works well I recon.
Recoil is pretty lively from such a light rifle and I have just today fitted it with a terminator break which works well cheers Greg.
The bolt is heavily fluted and cycles smoothly, as it should considering the price tag of it!
I really like the safety on this rifle, having a "half safety" which allows you to unload the rifle while still being unable to fire is a good feature I think.
The trigger feels so dam good, like silk, and it's wide which I like, never liked skinny trigers, the pull is really light, maybe 3 in but feels like 2 and breaks like a mouses thermometer.
I have a VX-R 4-12x40 CDS on It and loaded with sling is a total of 2.301 kg now that's pretty light, I hardly feel it walking about.
One of the problems with this rifle, actually the only problem I have with it is the stupid thread on the muzzle, it's 7/16x24 what the fuck were they thinking ? What this does is give you from outside of thread to inside of bore less than 2mm over a 13mm distance which is way to thin for my liking, I will get it cut down to 17" and re threaded to take a ocean defense suppressor in the near future, I've had one of those before and they are the best suppressor around as far as I am concerned but very spendy.
As far as accuracy goes it is pretty good, even for a crap shot like me, I've only put a few rounds through it to sight in and then did 1 3 shot group from cold to see @ 100 yards, see below.
As a light hunting setup you can not go wrong, but it's expensive, over 4k with scope and break, I've also got a triad tactical stock pouch which I use for 5 rounds and a few essential tools.
So would I recommend this to anyone, yes for sure I would, its light accurate and sexy it for sure will get the job done for years to come and it will be my only rifle for hunting from now on.
Below are some pics of it, and sorry that's it's so short but I'm not great at this stuff. Thanks for looking.

The Muzzle thread is 7/16 x 28, really small.

You can easily go up to 14x1 mm on these there is just enough meet for a little shoulder behind the thread.

Yeah that tiny muzzle thread would make me nervous. Chop & rethread is a great idea...so would topping the rifle with a March 2.5-25x42... would complete that lovely wee package nicely! I've been very tempted in purchasing a Mountain Ascent myself... very jealous

Yea na ay ..... Heheheh I'm happy with the leupold and if I was changing it I'd go nightforce, actually just ordered light weight rings 6 screw and a rail for it so selling the leupold QRs and tally rail.

I'd re barrel mine with a carbon 260 barrel when it gets tired but .308 for me is the best all round NZ shooter
