Kimber LOP
I have two and have always felt that they are usable but a touch short leading to a scope in your face when shooting steep uphill even with the scope pushed all the way forward. I haven't measured but the LOP is listed as 13.75 or 13.8 depending on action. This is more than or similar to the likes of remington 700s, xbolts, tikkas. What's going on here? My rifles at the gunsmith but has anyone measured the actual lop of a kimber. I have a hunter and mountain ascent however the Mtn Ascent lives abroad.

kimbers feel short when handling them in a tee shirt but are the right length of pull when im wearing my hunting gear (usually a oilskin or thick sweatshirt)
iv only used montanas so far so cant comment on the hunter or mt accent
chuck what ever you wear hunting on and see if its still a problem

@Stocky
My Adirondack is 13.5"
Just measured it.

Cheers il measure the hunter soon. The adirondack is the same stock as my Mt ascent and the Montana. And I noticed this problem while hunting and trying to get setup on the best cham buck I've seen. (missing was on me I rushed the shot in classic buck fever) but stock didn't help.

Don't wear much hunting usually a thin long sleeve top.

The tendancy to punch you in the face could also be due to the fact they are so blimmin light. Shooting steep uphill is always a pita especially if setup on the flat. Smacked myself with the tikka pretty good during spring. Turns out the knurling on the VX5 occ bell makes a mess of an eyebrow....

up hill shots are the classic weatherby eyebrow and man do they like to bleed
i still laugh everytime i see them because they usually have a good story behind it

Just realized i lost track of this thread. I roughly measure the LOP at 13.6" on the hunter. Im dont mean its getting close to my face during recoil as thats fine. Its more that i have to really try pull my head back for proper eye relief. I think this is actually the Z5s fault as it has a quite long ocular and even all the way forward i think its a bit close. I feel a longer LOP would fix this however it would be masking the issue I imagine. Measuring my VX3i i think it would sit further forward and solve these issues.
