    L579 Broken bolt stop spring

The spring on the bolt stop catch on my sako L579 has broken, I've sourced a replacement but the seller wants $125 for it!

Has anyone come across this issue - will springs off later model sako's fit or has anyone made their own, it's not a coil spring, rather a bent but of wire.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Measure the gauge and buy some piano wire at a hobby store?

Get a piece of music wire of the correct thickness, needle nose pliers, and bend a new one up in a few minutes.

I made mine and replaced it when it broke. Easy job. Just get the piano wire of the same thickness

Finally got around to doing this, shooting it without a functioning bolt stop was getting pretty old....

The local friendly gunsmith made up a replacement spring with some piano wire as was suggested..Thanks for the tips.
