    Large gun safe options

I'm looking at upgrading my safe to something in line with the old E Cat requirements, mainly for increased piece of mind but also for storing electronics/valuables etc in a fireproof place.

I certainly don't have enough firearms to fill a big safe, but do have a few with big scopes etc that need a bit more room between them than what seems to be the standard space that safe capacity is measured in. I've been looking at the Legend Hunting Gear safes, initially I thought a 20 gun safe would be fine, but then decided a 36 would give me plenty of room. From there, its $700 from there to step up to a 50 gun safe... What I do like about their safes is the power supply into the safe for lights, dehumidifier and I could then plug in back up hard drives as well. They are getting ethernet ports put in the next shipment as well so thats even better for my needs.

Is there anything else out there with similar features and capacity at the price? There's obviously heaps of options available in the US, but I can't see how it would be cost effective (or potentially even possible) to ship them here.

Any help, pointers, suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

Oh, and I'm very unlikely to be able to see these safes in person given I'm down the bottom of the South Island, so any pictures and/or user experience would be awesome

I'd love a room with a vault door that I could have all my reloading gear set up in etc and firearms in a rack... But I have to be realistic and settle for a safe

I picked up a chubb fireproof locking 3-drawer cabinet from Tardme a while back for not much, would that be an option for electronics/ small items?

I got a chubb 1500 fireproof document safe of tardme fairly cheap.
With a small alteration to the tracking I fit 20 rifles including some long guns in it. Still need seperate storage for some things and it took 6 of us and a pallet jack to put in place.
Very good value for money and they come up quite often on tardme

Look up Baronet safes (Local NZ) and see what they will make for you.

An option in line with the above are old actual safes.
Second hand may be cheaper than a new gunsafe, and a lot tougher too.
If you have large locksmiths in country, they should have a lot of floor stock second hand or 'refurbished' as they call it.
If you can find them locally in classifieds, sometimes people want them gone for just a few bucks

    Some options to google
Second hand safe, refurbished safes, Chubb Booksafe size 9

Heavy safes even up to a ton are not difficult to manouvere, you tilt and get pipe sections underneath them and roll into position
