I have sold 5-6 Leica scopes all but one had to go back, one twice even..... extremely disappointing considering the brand & price range

I ordered one in, it took 4 -6 months to show up & had marks on the tube, the client wasn't happy ( rightly so) it was returned.....

I'm a Leica Bino, spotting scope & rangefinder fan & have been for years which made it even worse.....

Yes a couple or more were the Magnus.....the one with the marked tube was a twin turret Magnus

As mentioned, being a Leica fan boy I was embarrassed to say the least.

Won't happen again though, they closed my account due to "lack of use"...hardly surprising at all.

That’s disappointing as Leica optics are pretty damn good.
I was eyeing up an ER5 2-10x50 in H&F the other day for a bush to 600 scope.
Might have to re-think that one

Bloody odd getting something in marked condition - Leica Germany (were Magnus and Alpha Bino's come from very pedantic lot)
My chap in Europe says less than 2% returns on Leica - Swaro - Ziess - Docter

Most of the ER range are in the sub 1K bracket - but I have not heard of any issues before today with them
As I just said - Euro stats on returns show 1.89% return with Leica
    Is that stat true ????
    Hoped it was ?

Seriously check out the new VX5HD or VX6HD quite surprising to be fair...even before you look at the price...

You know - there is a place not far from you that sends boxes of Leopold's back to States for repair - I will be traveling to Haast tomorrow with a chap who knows all the gory details.
So I will be quizzn him aplenty :-))

The ER Range is circa 1K retail - it should be unless I cocking things up - which does happen periodically

Yep they do, plenty of binos, range finders etc & scopes, (a lot of the scopes for CDS & most go to Aussie not the States) bugger all considering the amount of products they have out there.

I haven't had a Leupold scope fail on me yet & I have a couple or three.

I have sent some back I have acquired to be repaired, come back as good as new

    Google is your friend ;-)

I think the amount of leupold stuff they sell is quite staggering so I guess there will be a few that fail although I have not seen one with has and I have 4 of my own.
My mates Swaro would not hold zero right from new and it cost more than my rifle so there are duds everywhere unfortunately
    Danny likes this.

    I know the retail prices
I have not had luck with VXI and VXII scopes
To each his own I suppose :-)

Only the illuminated Scope above is fairly priced - rest should all be below 1200 retail

Yes VX I & VX II are old cheap scopes.... an A series Mercedes is just as good as an AMG.... or not...

FWIW I won't buy under a VX3 unless there is a specific reason, ie VX2 Ultralight
