Pretty sure most of the fakes had that same 8888 serial
Does not look real promising for being genuine...................

Trust the dog.........................................ALWAYS Trust the dog!!
Aside from the known fake serial number, the missing gold ring is the other indication (it is missing in the photo?)
Apparently some of the fakes are OKish but of coarse worth a fraction of the genuine item.
Read where guys have knowingly bought them.
Cheers thank s saved me making a mistake cheers

Not genuine that’s for sure.
I also don’t recall a genuine mark 4 ever having a gold ring either
They were military scopes and didn't need the civilian gold highlight.

Saw it on Trade Me. Was going to comment it's a likely fake but yeah nah.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
The 8888SC scam is a really old one now. I think there are other numbers now used.
If in doubt email Leupold.
There is this.
