    Yeah they're a good bit of kit, have three leupys with em, two 1-4 x20 vxr's and a 3-18 vx6 ( windage fireplex ) dot is nice and sharp, has adjustable brightness and auto shut down. Down side is the cross hairs are a little thicker than a standard duplex, which can be s bit heavy for longer rangers.

    I have several of them on bush hunting rifles. Great in the low light because you shoot to the dot, motion activation so saves batteries big time. Would be my pick for any rifle that is used for bush hunting. Over kill but I have one on my possum shooting .22 as well for night shooting. There are better options if you are after a varmint setup shooting out to 300m.

    How long does the battery last and where is it housed?

    Battery is housed in the left hand turret. Not sure how long they last as I haven't had one run out yet.

    @Shearer

    I have a VX-R 3-9 50mm For sale, only reason I'm selling it is i have upgraded to Nightforce SHV F1.

    I really liked the fire dot, nice and crisp to look at and Leopold is known for making good gear.
