Yeah the Spencer Carbine is a heavy unit
The action is very deep, the lever and block are very solid
Barrel wall is very thick at the breech.

But being really chunky like that they seem to last pretty well and there's not much that can go wrong on them because the parts are all very over sized considering the low pressure of the 56-50 RF
Of course its all made from iron which is why its all so big to get the strength

I like the Spencer a lot more than I had expected to
It's very well made
Feels nice in the hand
Would have been a quantum leap forward for the soldiers of the day
