Butler Creek Utility Nylon Web Rifle Sling, I would put money on it being as light as you'll get, its basic, metal clips so hard wearing, coils up to the size of a golf ball. Its the one I carry in my pack untill needed. Cheap to, about $25, you just need to add the pins that connect to swivel studs.
And it's black.
I have had all sorts of fancy slings and have settled on this, its a "crappy" chinese sling that come with some norinco rifles, its bloody comfy, no nonsense, light and simple, and strong as. Its like the Bahco knife of rifle slings, a genuine bargain. I think you can get them from trademe too a dime a dozen from those blokes that sell all the silly airsoft stuff.

I like the Thlr one I just got.
I was looking for the same thing and ordered this: https://www.marine-deals.co.nz/allen...g-with-swivels
Haven't used it yet, so can't really comment, but it is light/basic and seems to do the job.
I make my own from black or green tubular webbing, 26mm usually but 19 will do for a light rifle. Just double it through the sling swivels and do a water knot once you've got the length right. the beauty of this sling is you can use it doubled (both bits of webbing together) over one shoulder or split over both shoulders - a very secure across your back carry for when you need both hands on a steep bit or you need to throw your knibby at a dog.
A piece of webbing (your choice of width) and two ladder locks. Simple, super light.
Bailing twine @Gibo bloody light as mate... got one here for $100 :D
bailing twine, super light goes in your pocket when not needed, can tie deer legs together, cheap as well. Fucken uncomfortable thou. Me I use an old belt I got in some Op shop.
@R93 those look mint, do they come with the QDs or nah?
This them? https://www.outdoorsupplies.co.nz/Ni...ifleSling.html
So it should for over $100 ;) cry once I spose.....
They are good, don't slip off your shoulder as the sling has a bit of stretch which prevents the rifle from trying to hop off. Just loop the top off the sling over the barrel and adjust it so I can still slide on the barrel, the webbing has rubber fibres in it so it doesn't slide when your carrying it. Then you just need a tikka sling swivel for the butt end, I might have a spare
I'll take a pic tonight. You may or may not save any money on it buying it in Sweden. You can always buy it when you come back
I agree with folks who said make one, you don't even need a sewing machine.
I wouldn't use 25mm webbing though, 38mm or 32mm webbing is better, more comfortable, 38mm doesn't fit too well in standard sling studs but 38mm does.
I've got a padded sling which I never use anymore, was a good make, but I find the pad is never in the right spot, so a nice wide piece of webbing is more useful/comfortable.
I hardly use a sling but when I do 1" webbing is fine. After all a rifle doesn't weight that much.
for some reason (maybe the rolled edge) tubular webbing is much nicer on the shoulder than anything else the same size. I carried my 14 lb Ruger PR up to 1800m (before it went on a diet) and it was fine on 26mm stuff.
I picked up a couple of m16 slings. 10 bucks each
Light and strong and quiet

Why use a sling, they're just a proper pain in the twat :XD:
although I do carry one in my bag just in case I need both hands free
I wouldn't ever go without a sling, I even put one on my shotgun if I'm not shooting from a Maimai.
Any time I shoot with a mates rifle and it doesn't have a sling, I find i'm wishing I had one more often than not.
Maybe just depends what you are used to, first rifle I owned had a sling, when shooting as a kid my dads gun always had a sling.
Now that I have discovered the benefits of a decent 2 point shooting sling, I will never be without a sling.
Twat :D
Bit cheaper from here Niggeloh Rifle Sling - Black Watch Reloading
