Limbsaver for a finnlight?

Im looking at getting a limbsaver for my 85 finnlight, recoil is very manageable with the supressor but I have had limbsavers on all my rifles and they just give that extra bit of comfort, trouble is I have noticed my stock seems to be different to most the finnlights I see online? Can anyone shed some light in this and is there even a straight fit limbsaver for my rifle? Top picture is a photo of one from online, all the pictures of them I see the stock seems to be like this, pay attention to the line between stock and recoil pad, bottom is a picture of mine.

Ok thanks, because all the information tells me I can just whack a tikka t3 limbsaver on it and it will fit, which may be the case with the newer one but definately isnt going to work with mine.

You think a limbsaver will be an improvement over the original? Looks like it would do a good job.

Yes it works well enough but its still a hard compund rubber whereas a limbsaver is that super soft aircell stuff. Its not a big drama if I cant find one I have just allways enjoyed that little bit extra comfort they provide.

Have you thought of a slip on Pachmayr on top of it? We use them on our 75 and all our T3'S 223 /243.Great kit.

That 6.5x55 T3 I'm selling has a limbsaver on it, just sayin...........

I've got an 85 SS standardweight with that same butt.
Have you taken the butt off yet ?
philips screwdriver to butt screws.
push real firmly on the top screw and a plastic hook on the flexible frame inside will disengage from a counter hook on the pseudo cheek piece.
Undo the sling swivel to release the lower part of the internal frame.
Note that the butt isn't waterproof and if you submerse it will fill up and then run out through the action.
Put a wodge of siicone sealant between the butt cavity and the bedding screw void. Also consider sealing all jois with silicone when reassembling.
I couldn't see a tidy way of replacing it with a flat aftermarket butt plate.
That butt pad is real nice, has withstood much use as a walking stick, deals with recoil well, tolerates varied position and front rests / bipod with same POI.
I used a T3 lite in the same caliber in the weekend and it kicked a lot more (could have been partly a lighter gun).
I'd suggest staying with your current strange looking but works well butt pad and save for another stock.

fitting a limb saver on my 75 was a terrable idea, it ment i needed to shorthen the lenght of pull as limbsavers are longer than the factory rubber one
once done the limbsaver pissed me off gripping on my clothes when snap shooting so i took it off and re fitted the original making it shorter than I wanted which sucks

I fitted a t3 limb saver to my Sako 85 in 7mm08. The limb saver fitted straight into the stock with no problems and looks good. Only noticed a slight improvement in recoil though. Perhaps it's the weight of the rifle but I notice the recoil a lot more than in my old Mosberg .243. I also fitted a supressor which seemed to help a bit. Never notice recoil in the field but different story at the range.

Plus they get twigs and leaves and crap stuck into the gel. I never fitted aftermarket pads to my Sakos or Tikka.
