where does everyone use these when fitting scopes/bases if at all?
I use the weak loctite for all the screws and have used a bit of epoxy glue under the talleys mounts I put on last year as everyone recomended doing it with them.
These days i even torque up the screws.
Just use a fat wrench getting torqued correct
Don't use loctite thread locker's, they make epoxy glue though.
Use an epoxy with a good strength. Like Devcon plastic putty. I bought it from an engineering shop for $25. Done about 5 rifles with the one tube plus one bedding job. Can get a similar metal filled epoxy from supercheap.
Abe had to pry my rail off with a claw hammer with all the bolts removed. Just used 400 grit on the mating surfaces and cleaned with window cleaner, meths, brake kleen, whatever.
Aint never coming loose at the wrong time. Loctite on the other hand, lets just say Dan Hardy uses it.

I usually epxoy the mounts, loctite the rings. Never had rings fail on me yet.
If its likely its pretty premanent, use superglue.
I work in Engineering. I use loctite 243 on the bases and 222 for the mounts and torque.
Had a muppet gunsmith use too much on a picatinny rail. Dripped down onto bolt coverd it in shit. Careful on amount when using
loctite 243 , on pictany rail screws and ring screws
what about scope on rings just as they are or some sort of additive?
I recon if you need it what you actually need is decent rings,bases

It's a belt and braces thing for me. Better to be sure and not worry.
Shit bases+rings done properly are far better than the other way round.
Blue loctite on the screws is good. Don't let the shit near the bases. Worthless, useless, will cost you an animal.

I use green loctite - 609 from memory - retaining compound on bases and screws
I lock tite on bases.
im allways changing round scopes so I leave it off my rings.
this is when I can be bothered and can find the lock tite too. I just make sure my rings are tight, then check them again
