    Question Looking for Good hunting glass - with good turret system?

    Not after the worlds best. Just after something in the ball park of;
    4-16x50.
    Decent low light.
    Bush or hill top.
    Second hand or new.
    A good turret set up (like millet)?
    Lighter is preferable.

    $1000-$1500 NZD

    Any top advice?

    Currently have a sightron S3. It's nice, just not good for scrub. If only it had turret locks or covers.

    Cheers.

    Carl

    You can get a zeiss hd5 3-15 x 42 with turrets for a bit over a grand from magnum sports.

    Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

    I think the new leupold vx5-hd 3-15x44 firedot windplex is another goood option to the zeiss hd5, were in ballingers for $1600 odd the other week.

    Seems a good price, how are these VX5-hd stacking up for the money? Comparable to the Z3, Z5, HD5? Would have to be better than the VX3i to be in the same league as these scopes for the coins imo. Thoughts?

    Have a look at a HD5 mate.

    I only had a fondle in store, leaps and bounds abouve the vx3i, same glass as vx6 it's a 5x mag range as opposed to the 6x of the vx6, I personally thought they have shot them self in the foot with the vx-5 with that price tag, I have a vx6 and will be buying the vx5 for another rifle and save a lot of coin, virtually the same scope. The vx-5 is a real winner with the mag range they offer. Good luck with your decision mate!
