    Making small parts

Not always the most profitable work to do, but when it comes out this good, it leaves you with a good warm feeling.

Customer wanted a overbarrel silencer on his lever action, resulting in the front barrel band having to move further back.... But the barrel diameter increases towards the action.

Which left me with a delema.... do I take the shortcut and remove material from the barrel, or do I stretch the barrel band?

Well this barrel band did not like to be streched and even though red hot, immediately snapped.

Ended up machining a piece of 50mm rod into a new band.

Beautiful work. But needs must. Cost becomes issue but rifle no good if it doesn't still work.good on you for solving the issue so well.

What kind of lever action was it?

I would actually be keen on something like this but with a high front sight incorporated. High enough to be compatible with a rail mounted flip up aperture sight.

That way it would still be possible to use iron sights, over the top of the suppressor and also not loose as much sight radius.

This will be on a Marlin 1894.

I normally fit muzzle forward silencers, by threading the barrel and then installing an adaptor to the silencer.

High sights or a red dot will work great.

I have a red dot at the moment, and no suppressor fitted. But would prefer a suppressor and high sights.

    This is the the idea…

maybe use a ar15 site block on barrel and the put a mbus site unit on top to get the desired height the block fit a .750 barrel dia and I think a 650 dia is around as well .
