Just wondering if anyone has a M12 & what there thoughts are , Extreme , impact is it stainless or silver just coated ? pity it only has 2 cal options , the Max looks bloody nice I like the pistol type grip wonder how strong the stock is though , thoughts ?
I was considering an m12 extreme but blackwatch said the calibre I wanted wasn't available. Even tho it is listed and I would have been prepared to order and wait. To be fair they may not have understood that I would have waited (for their part they were very prompt and chased up availability very quickly and would have had another calibre there for me to try for feel and fit , just a misunderstanding I think) but never mind I may contact stager about the new m12 trail and when we might see that. Or I will just go with a different marque.

I think @Wildman had one in 6.5x55
He did, if he's not about I will say it was very accurate and very soft shooting and had a better trigger than my Sako's .

I had an Extreme. Problem was it was too nice to hunt with for me.... As @jakewire says, it did everything right.

We are supplied directly from Stager so the stock available at BLACK WATCH RELOADING - Black Watch Reloading is what Joel has on the shelf at Stager. That's a good deal, if it hasn't had much work it is worth the buy now price let alone if you can get it cheaper.
Looks good aye going by the reviews the barrel is pretty heavy 19mm ? so fluting makes sense ,looks like a great buy.. not sold on the cal though was thinking along the lines of 30-06 maybe 308 , the MAX model in 22-250 could be something special

Is the impact stainless ?
It has a cold-hammer forged matte-silver 20″ stainless steel fluted barrel which, along with the action are coated in a synthetic material called ilaflon. This coating is able repel anything you might get on it during a hunting trip, such as rain, snow, perspiration, blood, etc. The barrel is threaded for a moderator as standard.
I tried the M12 Impact and found it light, accurate and excellent value for money in the UK. I liked the 3 position safety on it and found it shot equally as well as other rifles from the same stable (Sauer, Blaser and Mauser). I also like the staggered box magazine which holds 5 rds and sits flush with the stock and the fact it comes factory threaded. It was developed for UK use to test the market as a 'working tool' for game keepers and professional hunters hence only the 2 calibre options at the moment but I have heard they are going to do it in .30-06 too. The only other downside is that it has not got and interchangeable barrel.
The M12 I tried I didn't like the safety on at all. I found it very stiff and after using it a few times my thumb was numb as a result, but the safty may wear in / get easier with use. I do also like the interchangeable barrell / calibre option which is great if you want to travel with it or shoot different species (eg vermin size , small size game, plains game etc). Well worth considering if you want to interchange barrels but don't like the straight pull concept and don't want to remortgage your house to buy the new Sauer 404!

The Mauser m12 and the sauer 101 are sisters are they share the same plateform.( trigger, receiver, barrel...). I had a look at the guts of one this week. It was in 7 R.E.M. Mag with the wooden thumb hole stock laminated. No bedding .
Sorry boys, typo! The M12 doesn't have an interchangeable barrel it's the MO3 that does! The MO3 is also .4kg heavier than the M12. Apologies for any confusionQuote:
