Mint rifles.
Little heavy. Not a deal breaker though.
Awesome triggers
Smooth actions
Magazine sucks in .223. Finicky to load (Not an issue for you) Also not a deal breaker.
Priced cheaper than Tikka in most places and shoot as well.
Not really any after market parts for them, if that’s your jam.
I don’t know much about Nikko but know they’re on the cheaper end of things. If it’s not part of a package deal, maybe look out for a second hand Leupold or Burris on here, if you want to dial. They just work and warranty is really good.
Just my two cents.
Nikko will be more than enough to get you up and running you may decide at a later date that you need something more expencive.
I bought this a few months ago - 17".
(I put the vx5 on it).

200m at the range.
Ignore the random shots at lower right, that was another cartridge that I don't think the rifle liked.

I believe the Metor is at the higher end of the Nikko scopes, but bear in mind its a $400 scope not a $1500 scope. Not that I have anything against Nikko scopes, but its something that may end up getting changed, 2nd hand value might be half of new, so something to factor in when thinking of price you are paying for the rifle.
If shooting around dawn/dusk, you will probably be using the scope at no more than around 6-7x magnification, and it might be a bit higher than ideal if you are planning on bush hunting.
Can't give you any opinion on the M18 though sorry.
Really like my M18 with factory 22" barrel in 308 as others have said not the lightest and mag is a little on the short side for seating longer projectiles.
I got mine on a really good deal without a scope it now wears a Bushnell 3-9 I got second hand off here and I am happy with how it shoots I run 165 NBT as it didn't group quite as well with the 150 NBT.
The M18 offers fantastic value for money. I am seriously happy with mine.
Great gun. Mine shoots 1/4" of 1/2" at 100m. Trigger is great. Mines cut down to 18".
One concern is the name, search m18 and you get results about nuts and bolts.
Also its not overly common so people are less familiar with servicing and troubleshooting.
