Biggest cal Ive ever owned was a pistol 500 Smith and Wesson with 500 gr were the biggest but normally the 300 gr was used, ammo was not cheap

I wish I didn’t sell my Husqvarna M46 in 9.3x57, great caliber. I’m holding out for one in a model 146.

416 rem mag Remington 700 with a loopy 1.5-5 on top and old warne premier rings/bases.
Shot one stag and two cattle beasts with it.
Current load is a low (I guess 2000fpsish) with barnes 350 X points. Still got 6 or so left from the first batch 20 years ago. Sighted in at under 5/8 inch group for 3 shots at a hundy
Done some handloads with 340 woodleighs and mate and I chronied them at 2550ish from memory. Haven't sighted them in as I still have the others left
A lot stouter recoil than the coppers.
Only got the rifle back last week from me mate after nearly 13 years so pics to come. In pretty good order except for a couple of big garks on the face side of the stock after it kissed a rock in a tumble one time.
Always wanted to do a cape buff hunt but never did and cant see it happening while Im young enough to not feck it up.
    Ah well

Do we have any .35 Whelen shooters here?

That was a good rifle, the Ruger M77 I used in Aus. Really enjoyed that. Flattened running pigs, good on scrub cattle. Would have one in a heartbeat.

Was going to build a 35Whelen until Walker on here kindly offered to sell the 350rem mag. Pretty much the sandvik think.
Would love to do an Oz trip some time when it suits

    Sako 9.3X73R

It was converted by Sako from a Mosin Nagant captured during the Winter war.Finland forbade the ownership of military calibers after the second world war.

The cartridge is a necked up 7.62X54R,in the process of necking up,the overall length of 1mm is lost. You can easily make the cartridges by running a 7.62 case up the resizing die, simple as that.

You can use 9.3X57 load data as the case volumes are the same

It is a very accurate Rifle in practically new condition. Its for sale as I bought a 45/90

    $500+shipping

Dies and 40 original once fired SAKO cases included.

Sort your import permit and I can send it off

505 Gibbs for me as well. 600 gr woodleigh at 1950ft/s is punishing enough :-)

Hah. They would still carry quite a big hurt factor along with them.

My Medium Bore is a 9.3x62 R93 Blaser
    300 grain Swift A Frames
    286 grain Lapua Magas
    Both very effective and accrate.
I have never tried a projectile of any sort in 9.3 that wasn't accurate in my rifle
If you ever want to sell barrel I will take it
