    Minox binos

Anyone using the Minox brand binos care to share their thoughts on them?
They've brought out a new 10x42 model and the older ones are coming down in price.

I have a pair of 10x42 BL Minox.

Think I paid $400 AUS at the time which was the cheapest price around by far.
I think they perform just as good if not slightly better than Cascades which I think is fantastic value for that price range.

If you want some good glass but don't want to spend $$$$ then get them!

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

A few of them won't ship to NZ

I got mine through B&H New York, looks like they have changed shipping policy as well now..
Mine were Minox 10x44 comfort bridge BL $399 + $45.46 AUS brand new

They didn't ship to NZ either so sent it to family in AUS

Very expensive to buy in directly in NZ

Yeah i brought a pair from Hamills a while back for around 6 hundy & they ar'nt to bad, they have a bit of a sweet spot in the centre which affects their flatness of feild abit, but they are still nice to look through & I think are still quite good value under $600

    On the down side

The supplied neck strap looked like "the ducks nuts" but wasn't even sewn on one side, so fell to bits (has been replaced though )
The supplied carry bag is very small, You can only comfortable fit the binos in with the eye cups all the way down & without any lens covers on
And finally even though Minox is a German company & they tell you that on all the paper work, There is no wording on the Bino's or paperwork telling you where they are made ( I read that they were German glass & assemble in Japan/US ) However on the boxes plastic wrapper was a tiny sticker saying
    Made in PRC
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

I have the 10x52 BR model. Excellent glass and would buy another set in a heartbeat if something happened to these ones

I have the 10x43 HG model, really nice glass, easy on the eyes. Mine were assembled in japan but a couple months after the started assembling them in Germany. The APO model is another step up and are superb!!

I like them better than using a spotting scope.
