Model 7 rear action screw swapped for 700 one?

So once again having issues with the poxy little rear action screw on the model 7, I swear they are made of old chease.

A bit of web surfing suggests it can be replaced with the 700 (both are same diameter) one if the rear tang bottle metal are modified to accept it, and I assume it gets shortened to suit.

Has anyone seen or done this?

Can be done, but you only have one shot ….regarding the small remington 7 screw with the hex head , wearing out sometime, I cut a slot in mine and use a flat head screwdriver.
