Just thought I'd ask the many knowledgeable people out there, has anyone used/got one of the Mossberg MVP .223 rifles? I'm having fun sifting through all the rifle choices out there if I ever get slightly rich.

All I know about them is that they take STANAG pattern mags. Means you can use a 30 rd AR15 mag in one if that's what spins your wheels.
I’ve just bought the patrol model with shorter barrel and open sights as I thought it was a good option for a light weight basic rifle as I will be using open sights to start with and if they are good to 100m or so I will leave it as is. I will let you know when it arrives and I have shot it.
I have one for sale if you are interested .
Just pm me.
I have one that I brought for my wife to learn how to shoot. It's no sako but is accurate enough and has taken plenty of goats and rabbits out to 200m. Had issues with feeding because the mag was to loose but any AR mag will fix that. It's does what I want it to do and puts meat on the table.
Thanks all, I have to put my ticket in for the computer at home so a bit late getting back to it. Wallaby shooting would be very fun with that drum mag and rifle mounted on the back of the truck. Always good to hear opinions from people that actually use the stuff.
So your fantasy of "if I become rich" is buying one of the cheapest budget rifles (in that caliber) in the world? ;)
I once checked out a youtube review of Mossberg MVP 223 and a commenter wrote:
"Mommy Mommy, can I have a bolt-action 223?", Said no one ever."
The LR model is pretty cool, it's on sale right now at GC.

We're speaking low levels of becoming rich, plus if you want a utility no frills rifle it would be fine.
Got my patrol 223 on Friday and fired about 30 rounds through it. First impressions are that I like it. Very light and the fibre optic open sights are very quick and easy to pick up. Nice to fire, no issues working the bolt and cycling through. The mag doesn’t have the nice “click”when it seats so I give it a tap on the bottom (the rifle that is) to make sure. Anything up to 80-100m the open sights seem to work well, over that and the size of the sights start to blur out the whole target. I’ll hunt with it as is for goats and think it will work great, if I find I need longer range I’ll look at putting a scope on. Overall for what I bought it for it is perfect, the only thing I might look for is a barrel forward suppressor that can be used with the open sights, but not for a while.
Awesome information thank you
Hows the MVP working out for you, Addo?
Still no issues, probably 60 rounds through it, cycles the rounds with no problems. Still tossing up whether a low power scope would be beneficial but I really like the open sites, they are great for closer shots, it’s anything over that 100m distance that the sites start to blur out the target. But I got it for mobs of goats up close and the fibre optic front site stands out awesome. I’m reluctant to put one on it just because I can and have a tendency to start spending money even when it doesn’t need it. So no complaints, I’ll keep using it as it is. I think it would be a great pig gun too
