Hey guys I'm mounting some Talleys lightweight extra low rings on my a7 tomorrow.
I remember reading somewhere about "bedding" them with araldite can anyone confirm this for me ? Or just use blue loctite ?
Any advice on doing this ? also torque specs for reciever screws (screws through base of rings into reciever) and ring screws (screws clamping scope into the rings).

Well just spoke to Amanda at Gunworks and here it is for anyone else interested
Fitting, we recommend 2 pot epoxy (hi strength araldite) to glue the base part to the receiver & tap on the screw head during the final tightening phase to bed the screw down
Torque screw poundage Direct from the Talley's website:
Base screws 25 inch lb, top cap screws 17 inch lb
I did exactly that a year ago, same rifle (A7 in .308) and same rings, same advice from Amanda. Also did blue Loctite on screw threads. Worked great, scope has had some good knocks and not moved off zero. Good luck.
I haven’t glued mine but used loctite 243 and had no problems.
Yeah I have always epoxy bedded mine. Can't hurt and easy enough to remove with a bit of heat if needed
Sell it, and buy a rifle with integral dovetail that accepts proprietary rings from the manufacturer. Why look for a cure for the american disease when it is so easily avoided? Just because Beretta produced something for the american market is no reason for anyone here to have it.

even with integral dovetail type rifles the ring base still requires a small screw or two for the clamping on to the dovetail, so no real world difference to the 4 small screws needed for the Talleys ring base to action top. ive seen both types share off with a big knock, but the force it took to snap off the base screws wrecked the scope too.

This is a hunting rifle and get used for exactly that, it performs it's function well and is proven itself more than a couple of times.

BSA, Brno, Tikka, and Sako all produced dovetailed receivers that only required a ring-set to complete the setup. Ruger also dovetail receivers for their rifles and TC did it with their Icon, but as a general rule americans and american gun writers prefer and promote separate bases and ring-sets for tapped receivers.
They even produce bases and rails to fit Sako and Tikka dovetails. They bemoan the fact that Sako receivers aren't tapped for bases. One can only assume it is because their parents are too closely related, but there is no need to follow their insanity.
Beretta made a commercial decision to produce a tapped receiver for the "Duh" market, and your Talley rings are an attempt to solve the problem of removing the third leg in the mounting system which had already been solved by the dovetailed receiver.
I'm not sure what the rest of your tirade is addressing, but you might try a bit of quiet meditation before upping your medication for anger management.

Optilock™ bases and adjustment rings are offered in multiple different lengths and sizes. This allows for a multitude of different scope sizes and brands to be fitted onto Sako & Tikka rifles.

Talleys ring/bases have only two parts, we are not talking about attaching seperate bases and then a set of rings. They are every bit as effective as dovetail rings.

This was the only option I could find to get my scope closer to the barrell and its done the job perfectly.

All jokes aside - I think the Talley one piece option is sound - I've got them on my Browning X-Bolt - a U.S brand rifle made in Japan.
Only my opinion though so take it as a grain of salt !
Never had any trouble with Talley lightweight rings losing zero without the use of epoxy or blue Loctite and never would use either. Can't hurt I suppose but each to their own.
I think one of the biggest improvements those rings offer is how much lower they mount the scope .
It bugs the #&*¥ out of me when I see scopes mounted way up in the clouds .
I’ve only heard good things about those Talley mounts , so I suspect your onto a winner .
