Thread: Moving up in calibre - 300 Win, 300 WSM, 7mm RM or there?

    Awesome decision. But the point I’d make if I saw this thread earlier, is by the time I was 50 I’d owned or used most calibres. It’s fun playing around with different rifles and blaming calibre selection on your latest stuff up. :-)
    You’ve chosen a great calibre, I’ve owned two and my first one was my first ‘long range rifle’ and I too traded up from a .270. No regrets it opened up a whole new world and I never looked back.
    My personal opinion of long range shooting is that the glass is a more important decision than calibre. It’s where the projectiles hit that seems to matter more than what size/shape it is.
    This point is well proven by the .223 thread.
    Enjoy the new shooter, you won’t be disappointed.
