x2 for gunworks
third vote for gunworks....take all your spare cash and go visit the girls in the shop.....lots of goodies to spend it on....
Had my 22-250 done this year at Gunworks was around $400 I think all up including shipping to Rangiora so I could collect on a weekend as Gunworks are a Monday to Friday business
Something not right there. 400 including a suppressor maybe? Miss being in Canterbury as was always handy dropping rifles off to them to have work done and often would pick it up again the same day. Had a squib load ruin the barrel of my little Brno model 2 which was the last time I used them, dropped it off to them and they cut it down to get rid of the bulge in the barrel but it was going to be under minimum length so they cut it down to just over legal length then counterbored the barrel and formed a crown 2 inches inside the barrel, threaded it for suppressor and all up cost me $90
Was years ago but from memory it was $65 from gunworks or free if you purchase a can from them too. That would have been 3-4 years ago but I'd say no more than $100 these days

Included suppressor and shipping to another dealer for collection and GST. I think all up it was just under 400
Gundocs old apprentice Zac at north Canterbury gunsmiths is good too. Out Rangoon way
Doesnt have a well stocked gunshop to buy stuff though.
That might be a good thing though lol
plus 1 for zac
Thanks guys, think I'll visit Gunworks in the New Year, Merry Xmas to all!
Another plug for Zach. When I asked Gunworks, it was gonna be $170 to thread for a non-Gunworks brake and a two week wait. I know they’re the best in town for intricate work, but that’s a bit rich for a quick, easy job. They obviously don’t want to do that sort of thing. Zach did a great job of my Mod 7 and went the extra mile fitting & lapping a set of rings & rail. Support the little / local guys so they stay in business!
