    New barrel Maker

I see Dan Hardy is making barrels now , we have a few barrel makers now in little old NZ , NICE , I would like to see some specialist barrels , ie tight twist jobbies made for subsonic psitol cals running heavier than std bullets .
Like a 38/357 mag barrel at 1-10 twist to use 250-300gr bullets , out of the little Ruger bolt guns , and a similar jobbie for the 44mag version , to run 300gr plus bullets at subsonic speeds etc .

    Or maybe a a NICE 308 5R in 1-11 twist .

Wasn't he set up by Border out of Scotland? His Rem clone actions look nice too.

D Hardy seems to have employed an ex employee from Border,Lee Tomlinson . I have met him a few time during my regular incursions at border barrels when I used to live over there. Probably their best employe and also one the finest F-Class shooter of GB.

why dont you just take the jump to .45 and get 500+gr subsonic?
easy as pie in a 45/70 or 45apc

I would love a .45acp barrel that would shoot 500+gn in a strait line

The bigger they are in dia the noiser , like VC said , me I would be happy with a 38spl loaded long with say a 250-300gr bullet .

I have a 44mag and its not that quite .

The secret is muzzle forward, the more forward the quieter it gets.

The bigger the calibre the harder they are to make silent.
