Hope this means an end to the <$100 export limit

Wow that article really is very heavily biased.

gun-makers will no longer need licenses from the Department of State to sell dozens of types of weapons to other countries, including semi-automatic assault weapons such as the AR-15 that has been employed in many of America’s worst mass shootings.
Relevance? Are they insinuating that exporting AR-15's is going to lead to mass shootings elsewhere? Because AR's automatically cause mass shootings? And because removing export hurdles from the US also removes other countries import regulations and licensing requirements for owners?

Click bait talking points man. Usual divisive nonsense. Sounds like it could be a positive for us law abiding nz gun owners. Would be great to have better access to american stocks etc.

One of the problems with Americans is they don't understand how the rest of the world operates they are like kindergarten kids.

The US media ignores the fact that 80% of shootings in the US are with pistols or (far lesser extent) shotguns. Or that these shootings are in predominately poor and black/Hispanic neighbourhoods.
Its only when middle class rich white kids get shot that leads to a media call for the banning of 'assault' (sic) rifles.
However when a neo nazi shoots up a black church with one, its a hate crime. Not a call to ban AR15s.

yeah but did you read the bit about flame throwers?
    I want one
but with the price of fuel I can afford to use it even less than my rifles lol
I don't necessarily agree with bit right at the bottom about crims and terrorists now being able to access them in large quantities.
From what I can gather that has not been an issue. They aint the only country in the world that makes weapons like that just one of the more difficult to them from.

The media here, well its not worth a dime. Its first with the story, any story doesnt matter if its right or wrong. Anyways what the Trump administration was looking at was ITAR. Basically a lot of small firms producing items that are not military orientated are currently prohibited from selling overseas without a overly expensive export license, and the list goes on. Hoping that this takes effect, gone a little stupid here, 10 or 15 years ago, there wasnt much paperwork involved taking your personal rifle overseas to hunt or compete. Thanks to a previous administration one has to register with the State dept and fill out more needless paperwork.
