Thread: New Winchester super suppressed factory ammo

Just a general interest to know if anybody has used/tried this subsonic ammo and observations?
Obviously I mean target shooting/plinking etc as it's not intended for hunting from what I would assume. (ballistics and projectile)
It's made for 300blk and 308win at the moment. And some pistol calibers I believe.

Probably trying to capitalise on the quite large group of people who shoot sub in those calibres. Quite a lot of hunting is done with them as well.

I use subsonic 308 on goats and hares. Works well on goats as you can sneak uo quite close and take them out at close range without spooking the entire mob.

Is that this factory ammo or handloads?

Sure yes. A lot of people use subs in 308 (handloads) for hunting, but I'm not sure of the projectiles in these factory ones for that.
On the winchester website they only have the target icon next to them indicating for range use.

Guys, I am not asking about subsonic 308win in general.

I want to know if anybody has any experience with these new factory subsonic rounds in the title specifically.

I am well aware people have handloaded 308 subsonics and have used them successfully for hunting.

These new factory subsonic rounds are advertised in the latest h&f catalog.

I'm not sure if it was this ammo but GC in Hamilton had some factory subsonic ammo a few months ago, but it was FMJ so didn't interest me as not good for hunting and too costly for plinking.

I got a couple of boxes of Winchesters subsonic 300 Blackout 200 grain hollow points and the main issue I had was the rough edges of the hollow point at the tip of the bullet jamming up on feed ramps.

I remember it shot ok, but due to the issues I had I didn't do any scientific grouping to see the numbers.
