Heart set on a new one.
Have a brother living in aussie so he can always bring one over if necessary.
The thread question was more about quality and how people rate them.
Leupold vx5 are stupid money now and although swaro z5 and z6 have wonderful glass I am too scared to even fart near them as they damage easily.
Swarvoski don't damage that easy I have a few and have never had one repaired due to me damaging it.

Have the 4-14 FFP in mil, really good scope, tracks well bomb proof and it's been hunted almost weekly for the last few years. No issues with glass and never not been able to shoot an animal at all times of day because of it.

I'm guessing NF will have the MAP pricing model?
All retailers having to advertise/sell at the same price?

    Pm Andy
You wont find a more a straight up bloke.
Some are missing the point that theres no gain in importing NF gear now we finally have someone in charge who's not out to fleece us all.
In the past it was cheaper to fly to aussie and get the scope and still have a saving thats no longer the case.

I have the SHV 4x14 ffp. I really rate it. Has enough elevation to dial my 7mm.08 out to 1000m. While still being usable for hunting situations. Reticle gives you enough info without being cluttered. Also like that the illumination only lights up the center of the cross hair. Some guys say the glass let's them down, but I have no complaints. Probably not the best choice for a light wieght rig. But if ( like me) you shoot your rifle more than you carry it I think they are a great scope.

Ok, the new NF model is a NZ BDM (me) that works for Nightforce Lightforce exclusively.
We are appointing dealers as we speak.
Dealers will stock and if not in stock will bring in from Aussie in a week give or take.
So effectively we have taken another layer of cost out. Same as swaro.
The NZ prices are now the same as aussie once you take in exchange rate and 5% extra gst.
    A 7x35 atacr f1 is now 2k cheaper!
    Happy days.
Dealers so far Hammills Tauranga, truflite,Taihape sports and outdoors and dead eye dicks.

    Any questions touch base!

Quality of the SHVs is as with any Nightforce excellent. I'm using SHV, NXS and BR range and Im happy as can be.

Had a 4-14 SHV on a heavy Hunter Class rifle and it dailed perfectly, glass quality was excellent, Ill buy more.

Look at Element Optics, better illum than most NF and well within your budget.

Thank you, Andy! Can’t be more happy with the nx8 that I got from you. We need good people like you to truly stand for us — unlike the other in here who rip off loyal customers with outrageous prices while claiming to stand for Kiwis. What a joke.

By the way, if we need service for a Nightforce scope, are you the one to talk to now? Cheers.
