its a conundrum no the sako butt plate does not belong on a BSA and I am not sure it belongs on that stock either - what the stock is dont know - 7mmwsm gives good advice with the stock and I would take the metal out of the stock and some break free or ballistol and coarse rag and slowly work on that surface rust needs some TLC - those older BSA are not a bad action so if the barrel is okay and it shoots its a workable rifle - value maybe $400 if all cleaned up
