    Opinions in Lilja barrels

    Hello you lot,

I'm currently re-barreling a rifle for practical/medium range rifle competition.

I'm keen to run 6mm creed and have been offered a Lilja Barrel in 1:7 twist

Any opinions on these? wanting to run 108 grainers so might be a little over twisted?

    Cheers

No such (practical) thing as overtwist - if it won't shoot 108's then you have the option of 110's and 115's. Sometimes doesn't work the other way especially at distance . . .

To some extent its what you want from the rifle - the occasional teeny tiny group doesn't do it for me, I'd far rather have consistent day in day out 20mm @100 groups with no "pulled shots" or fliers.

To that end I've just ordered a Hardy 1:7 barrel for my "short" 550mm barrel 6mm CM, but if I'd had the option of a Lilja or Keiger I'd have gone with it.

    Excellent barrels. I have 3 in use. 2 in 6.5s and a 6mm. All 3 groovers.

Lilja makes probably the best after market drop in 22 rf barrels available.

My gunsmith remarked (and he had Lilja as well) that they may a tad soft. But then again most US barrels are soft compared to European.

Lilja barrels are the ducks nuts. They have long knox form, and are known for easy cleaning.

Both Liljas I've had on my 308 target rifle have been excellent barrels.

I fitted one to my Barnard some time ago and am just getting around to using it. Excellent results to far

No issue with the twist. My 7.5 shoots 70g 6mm just fine.
