Parker hale bolt
Ok everyone on here has been really helpful and patient so far so here's another one.
Can anyone tell me the if they have one hiding in a cupboard or know of a bolt for a parker hale safari? Its in 7x57 and I was given it over 10 years ago and never had one when I got it.
No rush for this, mate still looking after it for me, its waited this long it can wait some more.
Very well aware about headspacing etc. and the barrel is pretty rough from memory so unless I lucked out and we could get it to shoot and luck out again with some form of accuracy, probably more for a rebarrel at a later stage.
Also what are they worth?
I have heard that there are some different models so different bolts but suggest this is at least 70's early 80's at the newest. I can get him to forward the s/n if that helps to age it.
Worst case I need the gun to match the bolt yeah?
Put this on the firearms forum rather than the WTB as I don't have the cash at moment, really only sussing it out for later on.
Admin fell free to move if I have erred.

Nearly all the PH Safari's were built on Santa Barbara (Spanish) Mauser 98 actions so any bolt from a Mauser 98 (well most anyway) will fit, it'll just need headspaced (and maybe the bolt handle altered). I don't have one but there are plenty about.
-
Tentman, That was the initial reports I heard. Then they changed the action later it but the guy I got it off had it for years and I got it back in 2005-6, that's why I'm picking its and older jobbie.
Sort of found some on one website but out of stock for 100 odd bucks, that was only yesterday. When I pick it up along with the others my mate is still looking after for me I'll actually have it to test if I find one local.
When we catch up in a fortnight I'll fill you in if we have time.

@garyp on here will prob have one.

Stug-I've pm'd garyp. lets see what pops up. Thank you.

Sorry mate I have none at present. Best option is to try Graham Champion in Hawera as Mauser 98 bolt will fit. Cheers, Gary. If I do get one I will contact you.
-
thanks Gary. ive had a bit of a look for his stuff before but didn't really come up with anything. Someone posted his trademe name and he had a couple of rifles on there but I cant remember what it was.

Graham uses bastman as his TM name. Or Google CAC, that is now his company, details easily found. Good guy to deal with.
-
Cheers Husky.
I tried the CAC thing but didn't really get what I was after but I was more after a website not contact details. Yup that's the name I looked up some stuff on trademe a month or so ago. Jogged my memory.
