    Permit timeframes

I have a few E cat bits ready to be sent from the US and I have requested the appropriate permits.

I'm just wondering what wait time other people are experiencing from AO office to receiving the permits?

    Cheers

They have a big back log of applications to get through as the transition from Joe Green hasn't gone smooth.

I talked to my AO yesterday and the jam is supposed to have been fixed, so 2 weeks.

I've had a number of permits over the past few months which have taken between 3 weeks and 2 months (almost all declined). Hopefully the new person is a bit more competent.

What was the reason why they were declined?

FWIW I have never had an E Cat import permit for commercial stocking purposes approved. Firearms dealers licenced by Police to sell MSSA's are not accepted as trustworthy enough. It seems personal imports for own use are fine though.

Just heard today that we had a permit for a shipment of JM Pro Mossberg Shotguns turned down. These are an E Cat shotgun modified and tuned for 3 Gun. Relatively useless for anything else. However we can still import these on an individual case by case basis. There goes the significant club discount for these guns.

Geoff Jago appears to be signing permits, who replaced Patricia who replaced Joe.

Digit, are you following these up yourself or is it purely a waiting game? Not sure if its worth speaking to my AO as I'm afraid the question will get mine put to the bottom of the pile.
