Has anyone here ever mounted a Picatinny rail to their .22 Brno 2e? Now Ive got a bolt again and 2 x 22s now, Im thinking of setting one up so I can mount my thermal on it for hares and cats.

Check the rail width.
As there are different width under side slot picatinny rails for the 2e/CZ452.
Welcome to Sako club.
If one of your 2e is not a heirloom, you could have a tikka flat rail installed and screwed on, but that involves drilling and tapping your receiver
The BRNO dovetail is an oddball size
too old to die young
I have had one of these on my CZ452 American (this is the one with the oddball dovetail size) for years - works great. Uses set screws which push down onto the top of the action and I put some #7 lead shot in the bottom of the holes before tightening the screws so they don't do any damage.

That looks like the ideal solution, as yeah just measured the top of dovetail and its the oddball 11mm

I just used the dovetail mount option for my NV, DNT sells them separately
I have done exactly that with my 2E, used one of these:

Be a high cheek weld though with that plus rings.
Yeah the old hog back stock is a bit low for scope use as it is and I have some foam wrapped around it already. Ill just adjust again when I mount the Thermal.

The mount arrived today and quite impressed at it for a delivered price under $30!
