Customs don't make their own decisions on what to do. They just do what the police tell them to do when it comes to legitimate firearm imports.
Which is actually silly because it opens them up to legal battles when they're breaking the law by doing as police tell them.
In my eyes (I'm no lawyer), technically they're the ones breaking the law by confiscating the firearm parts with no legal basis, the police are just telling them to.

How about ar15 parts that fit other rifles? like a jr carbine? they use trigger group, stock, buffer tube etc, fore grip.

Erm, what about spare parts if a trigger breaks on my existing a cat ar or a buffer tube spring needs replacing?

I'm sure they will. But someone needs to pay, maybe we should all consider going in together. I doubt they have any chance of winning.

I'd happily contribute to legal fees if someone fundraises to fight this, this is complete horse shit

Like Angus said if there’s a fund going I can put a few bucks in. Can’t do much but every little bit helps. Gotta fight it somehow..

Me too and I dont even own a rattlegun!
It will be them first and me next so I am willing to put in to put the police in there place yet again.

We recommend anyone who is affected by this new policy to get in touch with one of these lawyers."

Not affected but i'll be ringing both to ask if they're taking contributions after work tomorrow.
