Having disposed of some guns and with an indefinite build time I am looking at a standard barrel for my R93. Fluting is an $888 gst inc option. I love fluting, but even my love has limits.
So where have others landed on this and why?

JAYEEAUSUS!!!!!
I'd be thinking fuck that.
I may have whispered something similar. Needs to be factory fluted too...phosphate finish I think.
Gunworks: PLEASE NOTE WE CANNOT FLUTE BLASER BARRELS DUE TO THE TRINITE COATING (WHICH IS AN EXTREMELY HARD COATING)... so $588 more than getting done locally.
I think the threading can be done but fluting no.
@veitnamcam is handy with I big angle grinder I believe.
I reckon he'd have a crack for half that price[emoji6]
....how hard can it be (pun intended).
Not much cant be done with a 9"bosch
I'm with Brads, fuck that.
I don't remember it being that much when the option was suggested. Was told it wasn't worth it cos it saved fuck all weight. A machinist can do it but will chew a few tooling heads and make the coating useless which is why they say do factory option.
Price accurate as of today. I think it is pretty clear cut (pun intended).
get done locally and ceracoated?
Possibly if someone was prepared to do it and it didn't end up costing a lot.
