Question from my friend.

I haven't tried import gun parts or mags from oversea, so do not know the answer......

He is going to apply the A cat licence, but haven't started.
He asked me:
If people without a licence can buy mags locally, how about import some mags under $100 from brownells without a licence?

What type of mags/parts as well? If fits a MSSA, likely to need endorsement, own endorsed firearm and import permit. Some exceptions to this.

I don't know what he wants to buy, but I told him he cannot hold a mag over 7 rounds which can fit a semi-auto rifle with a A cat. No matter he buys from local store or oversea.

Actually you don't need any license to buy a magazine by itself, unless it's a matter of policy for a particular shop

Yes, but for A cat holders, it is illegal to hold a MSSA with a big mag (more than 7 rounds, or looks like a M-style mag) at the same time, same place, unless he/she has an E cat supervisor indicate.
Also, mags are too expensive from local stores. Lol
