    A quick Crony test

I went to the long range today as the short one is closed due to fire risk

The long range is a 90-95 km round trip, much further than the shot range

My new Magneto Speed 2 Crony showed up yesterday so I thought it would be a good idea to try it out.
I pre-ordered it just before the Accoustic ones showed up......bugger or not....

I thought it would be a good idea as I could use it when ever I wanted ie shooting rocks way up a hill, etc.

As you can see by the photos sometimes it's a real misson setting up a crony depending where you are shooting.

I had the Magneto Speed on the muzzle, then I dusted off the F1 (that I haven't used since I got the 35P) & put it in front of the Oehler.

The speeds were a bit erractic as I expected, different loads & it was in the bright Nelson sun

    I was shooting a 6.5-284 over them.

    MS.......F1.....35P
    2920....2949....2959
    2969....2962....2961
    2840....2814....2813
    2845....2842....2837
    2855....2854....2850
    2870....2876....2861

They all were pretty close with the 140s

The 300s out of the Edges were a different story, I didn't use the MS only the F1 & 35P & only recorded a few of the starting loads.

    F1.......35P
    2754....2736
    2756....2740
    2750....2731
    2757....2732

& just to make a good day even better the 3 rifles behaved themselves nicely especially the new Edges

With the high price of decent chrony's it's very tempting to have a crack at making one! That magneto one should be relatively easy cheap to make (with one major change as to not breach the patent while also improving the system) First thing's first, better find some free time... haha

Those results are all pretty close, and I'm not sure which one is best? But it does show me that the old $150 F1 is still a good yard stick to measure by eh.

Mine went from 3180 to 2800 one day apart with same load, one bright sun other very overcast . Bright sun was fairly accurate at the fastest and overcast was slow
