Thread: Quiet effective sub caliber for hunting, is there such a thing?

I use, and have hunted alot over the last few years with the 300 Blk Hornady 208gr A-Max and while it's done the job for me on many a deer it's certainly very limited in range and you need to be mindful of ricochet. A number of them also seem to be close to, or just going supersonic and that's out of a min legal length barrel with a can on the end.

IMO I'm happier to shoot the 300blk supersonic ammo and take the minor noise increase for the better stopping power and range advantage.
