Ringed Barrel thoughts
I picked up a JM stamped Marlin 336 dated 1960 a while back which was clearly ringed 5” from the muzzle. I didn’t mind at the time as it was rather cheap and knew i could just get it cut down if need be. I’ve never had experience with a ringed barrel before but from majority of what I’ve found researching it seems it should be ok to shoot as is. There is a bulge but it’s very difficult to see and can only be felt when running the fore finger and thumb quickly down the barrel.
Would like to hear people’s experience's or thoughts.

Most unlikely to be an issue
If the last few inches of barrel are good it should be fine.
I've had a few vintage rifles with well ringed barrels and they shot fine if well back from muzzle
Just go shoot and hunt with it and forget about the ring

Im guessing your rifle is a 30-30 calibre , which isnt a super dooper high pressure cartridge. As long as the rifling crown is in good condition you wont notice any effect from the ring in the barrel.
Some previous owner probably went fishing with it , eh ...

if it still shoots OK just use it as it is...
