    Roessler Titan 6

I know nothing about these rifles apart from a quick flick through google. I’ve just bought an ‘89 Winchester M70 Lightweight and was offered a Titan 6 as well. .243 S/S. I’m guessing they’re not very popular as I haven’t seen any for sale other than a couple in the forum search function. What would be a rough value for a bare rifle in tidy shape?

My uneducated thoughts. Never heard a bad word except they have an alloy receiver (including the stainless) which means you have to be very careful when inserting the bolt to not damage the entry edges where the bolt goes in. The few Ive seen have all had that damage. Cosmetic but not nice.
Ive noted too that they are generally over priced. I reckon they should be no more expensive than a good value Tikka.

Thanks Bruce, that was my thoughts price wise as well. Had read a couple of mentions about the alloy receiver so I’ll have a look at that when I pick up the M70. It’ll be something different to try if nothing else.

À guy I know who was in gun retail about 15 years ago reckon they had lot of problems with them at the time. And also not shooting always great.
A gunshop owner I know in New Caledonia sells a lot of them over there and reckon they perform better than tikkas.

So here you are, two opposite views with 10 to15 years difference. Who knows the quality control might have improved.

I have a Titan 223 (left hand) and really rate it. Shoots and handles very well.

They are a nice rifle, but I had one that cracked the alloy receiver. Twice.

I wasn't the only one to have this issue.

I had a Titan 3 in 22-250 ten years ago, was a mint little shooter & a nice little rifle.

As Tahr said the bolt lugs are very pronounced & sharp so if you aren't really careful putting the bolt in you will end up chipping the rear of the action.

IIRC I couldn't give it away & sold it on TM ( bare rifle ) for like a grand.
