I have my father's 10/22 that he purchased in the 80's. Don't know how many thousands of rounds have been through it. Only time it malfunctions is if it hasn't been cleaned for a while. Seems to gum up in the chamber. Absolutely bog standard other than polishing the trigger group.I used it recently at one of the local S.P.A.R.C matches,where the little ruger did pretty well for itself.
