Ruger 77/44
G'day
I've just purchased ( haven't got it yet due to stupid Aussie gun laws ) a Ruger 77/44 .
This is just going to be a bit of a fun project and I already have a few ideas about how I'm going to alter it .
My question is does anyone have any experience with these things ?
Are they like most other 44mags in that you can use 44 special loads in them if you want lighter loads ?
How bad are the triggers really ( I've read a few horror stories ) .
Any comments good or bad are welcomed , and even if they are bad it's to late now I own it :) , and it's not going to stay standard for long .

I dont own a Ruger but do have a Winchester & Rossi .44mag
Yes you can shoot 44 special loads in .44mag chambered rifles.
If you want to try some reduced loads or subsonic loads and your a reloader then get yourself some trail boss powder and some Hornady 300gr xtps.
Cheers

They are not a bad wee gun - watch out for ricochets, on flat land they are pretty frequent

I'm looking into one of these suppressed running subsonic ammo for deer under 80m or so. Just need to track one of them down first!!!
Have you received your rifle yet?
