    Ruger American - 7mm08

Hi there, I have a Ruger American in 7mm08 and I really like it. Taken a fair few animals with it

They have a free floating barrel, but I noticed the stock pushes on the barrel at the end of the stock, would this affect the accuracy? And how would I go about fixing this? I've tried adjusting the stock, would a bit of heat and some light force to reshape the stock work?

Also, it's running a standard DPT suppressor, looking to add baffles to make it quieter, would that work too? I've seen DOT have a muzzle break that can be added on to the end of the suppressor, any reviews on them?

Ive got one in 223, good accurate rifle.

As for the stock i would fill the foreend with epoxy and get a rounded mill bit to hog it out giving more space. Failing that Magpul and MDT make fairly cheap stocks for an upgrade.

    This might help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNZDxMaIsd8

    What he said.
If you're worried about weight boatbuilders add micro beads to the epoxy to add bulk without the weight. You can then sand/grind the stock to float the barrel.

I’ve sorted a number of injection molded plastic stocks with Nathan Fosters stock stabiliser product. Works really well and pretty cheap too.

Look it up on his ballistic studies website.

DPT muzzle breaks have been discussed recently on this forum. Short summary, bloody excellent!. Add one baffle to compensate for the muzzlebrake as you are removing the front endcap to install it.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...
