Thread: Ruger gen 2

Has anyone here bought a ruger gen 2? I've tried numerous shops and all there next orders are on back order. So to be able to even hold one, I have to put a deposit down to get it in a shop and then purchase. If I don't like the feel of it, no deposit back...

I have a gen 2 in .223, the standard 20” barrel version, absolutely love it! Much nicer trigger and action than the 1st gen, shoots easy half inch groups with multiple factory loads and the barrel, other than looking awesome being spiral fluted, is the perfect comprise of length/diamater, not too heavy at all to carry around hunting but a decent enough profile that it doesn’t mind shooting multiple groups relatively quickly. I personally would highly recommend one, what calibre are you looking at? I have a contact I can get in touch with to see what, if any, calibres are available at the wholesaler or around the country. I know H&F Tauranga had atleast 3 about 6-7 weeks ago, but possibly all sold

I've bought one, paid in full but it's still a month away haha. Handled the 20 inch version in store, it seemed good but I didn't want to look at it too long or it would have left with me and I was really after the 22 inch predator version. Didn't cycle the bolt or pull the trigger. Not sure they're worth what I paid it was almost tikka prices but I gave it a punt, I wish it had a MOA guarantee even if they're a bit of a scam.
The 16.5 inch version with the stock spacer taken out would be a handy little thing too I'm guessing.
