Question Sako A7 - Long Range Combo

Looking for comments on this project:

1 - Sako A7 - SS in 7mm-08, incl. 24" SS factory fluted barrel, with Bell and Carlson Medalist Stock**.

    2 - Bushnell Elite 4-16 x 40mm, 600 DOA rectile
    Bushnell - 4-16x 40mm - DOA 600

3 - Warne Maxima SS rings - these are made down in Oregon near the Leupold factory.
Warne 1 Maxima Permanent-Attachable Weaver-Style Rings Silver Medium

Prospective Use: Anything on the tops in the South Island - at long range.

**FYI - This is not the Sako A7 Tecomate (that only comes in .270 WSM or .300 WSM) but it is the same B&C Medalist stock - which is still not available except as an A7 combo from Beretta USA. YES, I have asked B-USA why they are restricting sale of the B&C stock but with no success.

Sounds like a solid base. I would consider a different scope, the mag and make is fine but id get rid of the bcd reticle and go for dial up turrets it is much more accurate at range.

What do you call long range is the most obvious question?
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.

308Win One chambering to rule them all.

Would pick a heavier hitter for "the tops at long range" 7mm RM perhaps?

you can allways pick your own B&C stock up from Dead eye dicks if you wanted a bit more caliber choice
in doing this I would concider looking at the A7 and T3 side by side to see where the extra money is going

Id look at a tikka t3 (I know they are boring but they are good value and very little different to the A7) in 7mm Rem mag and drop it into the B&C stock

Id personally WANT more pep for shooting in the tops, but then again I shot more thar with my 243.........
but the rem mag has the legs

or you could buy that sako 75 in 270 that I keep looking at on trade me and it would be good to go as it is

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions. I would not be keen to try anything over 300 yards so that may not really fall into the category of long range shooting !
