    Sako Hunter stock

    Hi, if anyone can shed any light I’d be mighty pleased.
    Can the Sako 85 Hunter fit into say a Finnlight stock as long as it’s the correct length and barrel profile is ample to fit in channel? Are all other dimensions relative?

    Hi Dan, to be clear are you asking if a Sako 85 with a Wood Hunter stock can fit into a Sako 85 Finnlight stock in the same size action length ?

    If so yes as I have had my Sako 85 243Win in a Wooden stock & now it is in a Finnlight stock !

    Yes. SM (short magnum) and S (short) actions are the same dimensions also so SM and S stocks are the same

    Interesting Ryan is that true true, as I thought the same but some one said the mag well on the SM was wider for the fatter case, now I was thinking I don't think so, as only the mag internals would be larger, as in 30/06 stocks on a lot of rifles fit 300Win Mag ?

    I also bought all the parts to put together a Sako 75 308Win bolt & could only get a SM firing pin & I hope it is the same or similar ?
