Thread: Sako M78

I received a very generous gift from a customer at work this week, a Sako M78 in 22lr, for my son to learn to shoot with. It's in pretty much mint condition, bought new and he reckons it's had maybe 2 boxes of ammo through it since. Unfortunately I don't really know much about them. I would like to put a period correct (1980) scope on it, has anyone got any suggestions? Also it's missing the rear sight, I imagine they are like hens teeth but if anyone had one lying round unused I would be interested

I think You can still get spare mags from beretta , but they don’t come cheap.

Yep Tasco 6 x 40 or weaver 6 x 40 with the micro trac adjustments, often found in Weavers T series

I have one (m78) also. The rear sight is a Williams. Not sure of the details as mine is long gone but one used on many rifles.
