I've had several over the years.
Zastava yugo made light tack driver with excellent trigger blind magazine still have it
Howa mini, excellent trigger, smooth action very accurate and light. Silly magazine system though. Avoid the hogue stocked ones.
Weatherby vanguard basically Howa 1500, heavy, blind magazine accurate stainless steel was prone to rust spotting
Ruger American shortest barrel, good trigger, excellent detachable magazine system. Agricultural finish and "scratchy" action. Very accurate but heavy for it's size compared to the Howa.
I've also spent time behind a savage, excellent trigger light accurate fiddly magazine.
They're all good options that most people overlook.I think that you won't worry about it getting bashed about.
