Will most likely be a Savage model 99 manufactured pre WW2.

Basically a crap rifle, Can give you $50 for it to take it off your hands.

    Cheers

Ah yes I just bought one, quite a modern looking cartridge has 3 grains less capacity than a .308. Mine has the rotary mag, very clever design and bases already installed. The barrel was toast so I have picked up a good ex target barrel for $120 and a reamer from Din Colling, Mitch Maxberry is doing all the work, and I have ordered a 2-7 scope for it ., Looks to be a fun gun.

I wouldn't be too upset to put a Savage 99 in my safe Maca49.

    I like them.

Not sure if you can still buy any ammo.

I got ammo sitting in my cupboard as I type..... some dates back to 1952.

Got dies and can reload too if you like.

I inherited Dads DMW Mauser in 300 savage.

    Shoots pretty bloody good still.

The Model 99s are a good rifles, you may be surprised how well they shoot.

Just don't feed them hot loads.

Post some pics ... you never know I might up my offer

    Cheers
    Pete

Calibre - think of it as an early 308. You can still get ammo, but it takes some phoning round
Rifle - probably the best lever action design built, there are issues but I like them alot

If it comes with it's original box it's gotta be worth at least $60.

look forward to seeing the photos.

An Old Uncle of mine had a beauty in 250-3000.

He owned it since new .... left it to his son in his will.

    Cheers
