    Scope bubbles

I know lots of us have a scope level / bubble level mounted on their LR rigs & while they look friggen Tacticool, Does anyone ever bother to actually use the things in normal hunting situations and is it worth the extra 1oz of weight ?
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

Good question look forward two the answers. No for me never used one when shooting a deer.
I used to have to have them on every scope it was cool
Now none have them, still regularly shoot two 1400 just a badly as I did with one on

whos good at Trig and can work it out properly for me? , My 338 is roughly 84" above LOS at the highest around 500yds with a 1000yd zero , 5deg would put me roughly 10-11" to the side forgeting spindrift & coriolis so would think 20 odd inches at 1000yds , playing with bubbles i have found that it is rear to have the rifle sitting level on the hill without one , I would rather play it safe and have one and not need it than not have one and blow a good animal because i got it wrong.

Ive found the same thing on the hill, surprising how much cant i can place on the rifle when I've thought its level. Bubble eliminates this and probably wouldn't be without one now shooting long range on uneven terrain.

All ways try to use mine, tend to forget about it some times in the heat of battle ,

Nope not for hunting. Would be like having fluffy dice on your rear view mirror. Get in the way and no fucking use.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Bubble works for me , snug in behind the stock on longer shots , take a wee peek at the bubble and very rear id have the rifle plumbed up . close up shooting there just excess baggage .

Makes a bigger difference the further out you go.

Won't notice it on a windy day because "I miss read the wind"

Or on a still day "must have been some invisible wind in the gully"

The Night Force top ring level is probably the neatest solution for normal rings.

The Sphur mount is in another league & unfortunately price bracket.

Use mine for anything over about 300m. Surprising how much the rifle can be on the piss when I think it's close to level so will make a difference on the longer shots.

    Always use mine.

I do plenty of shooting across a sloping hill, every time I sight it without the bubble, then look at the bubble to check...and it's never level. So I level it, then shoot....easy as!

Using both eyes open you can easily check it multiple times when getting ready to fire. After all, there is usually a bit of time to spare when shooting long range.
