    Agree 100%. I would never entertain having one on a sporting rifle, no point.
    OP hasn't stated his type of shooting though.
    Even for super long range hunting the effect of wind will nobble you first.

    I do however have them on my F Class rifles.
    I have a US Optics and a Hollands which clamp to the rail and fold out (would be an abomination on a hunting rifle as I frequently forget to fold them back in.) I also have 2 Vortex 30mm ones that clamp on the scope tube.
