    Which scope should I buy?

Hi there first post to forum, I'm currently getting a custom 300wsm built, wondering on ideas for a good allround scope for bush and long distance? Thinking of Leupold vx6 or swarvoski z5 etc.i currently have a nightforce on other gun but very heavy scope, would prefer something lighter. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated cheers.

    Warm barrels.

Welcome, enjoy the forum, someone with more knowledge than me will help with the scope problem, or look back over previous posts on the subject

Me personally. I run a Sightron 3.5-10x44. Just chuck some rubber tube over the tac turrets if I go bush. Best glass around and you can easily punch something at 500m. OTY what crosshairs you go with. personally, I run Milrad clicks and Mildot. Think there is a picture on my profile if you want to check it out.

IMO - If you want to hit out further, you are always going to have some solid weight and you may compromise your lower end magnification?

Check this post I wrote up the other day:

    Hope this helps.

Just be aware the fine reticle on the vx6 is extremely fine, complaints from my mate are that they are easily lost on a dark background and I definitely agree with his assessment. Alternatively get a different crosshair or illumination, other than that awesome scopes.

Yip ideal for open country but OP said bush as well and low light conditions, that's where you will come to grief to each their own.

Best thing is to look through some if you can and see what suits your eyes best.

    The VX- 6 recommended is a 3-18-44

3 power in bush and low light conditions with the superb VX-6 glass hoses any VX-3 in the same conditions

And we have used the VX-3 in the bush and in low light for years and years and years.

Try one, it wont disappoint, if its unsuitable get the VX-6 in 2-12

Completely agree with your scope choice if budget allows, comments were aimed at crosshairs.
